We first met Woody at our Southern Migration Rally, and he already has a Flaanimal 5 in his stable, but with the addition of this Donkey, the East Coast Herd grows ever larger.

As far as painting our own bikes goes, there’s plenty of precedent at Rodeo: We tend to get a bit wild and try ambitious things. Our newest painter Adam has been at it for months now, painting amazing bikes for customers, so when it came time to do his own bike, his skills were dialed and his ambition was high. As we left the office each day for the last few weeks, Adam would most often be the last person still here, late into the night, furiously masking, painting, and repeating over and over. Nobody knew what the final bike would look like, including Adam. But, once complete and unmasked it was clear to us that Adam’s Flaanimal set a new bar for ambition and execution in the hometown fleet. We love seeing bikes this beautiful, unique, and personal brought to life here!

If someone can pull off a design this radical and cool on their own bike, you know that you are in good hands when it comes to having us do something fresh with your steed.

@codycir and @matthew_tufts approached us early this year with an inspiring pitch: They wanted to spend a couple of human-powered months riding the outer perimeter of Iceland on Rodeo Labs bikes, all the while carrying their skis and peeling off to notch seemingly innumerable ski descents along the way. We get plenty of project pitches at Rodeo, but this one stood out because it combined a world that we know a lot about with a world that we know very little about, all in a land that we very much want to explore ourselves someday.

Our in-house custom team keeps nailing the design and execution on these, and we’re proud to turn inspiration like Sam’s into beautiful AND capable bikes!

Sam opted for the UDH slider and UDH hanger on her build to future proof the rig if she decides to go Transmission down the road.

Final shipment of the week! Robert requested a bit of an homage to Williams Racing F1 colors, and we obliged with this Flaanimal 5 with a two color fade and bright blue color pops. Happy New Flaanimal day, Robert!

This brand new 58cm Flaanimal 5.0 frame started life as a custom commission for a customer with unimpeachably good taste. Just one problem: He wanted script logos on the downtube, and we accidentally applied the default, more modern downtube logo. Whoops. We corrected that with an entirely different frame, and we knew right away that this frame would become the next DealTime build.

DealTime builds are most often done with parts that we have here in stock at The Lab, as is this one. Chef Coco looked at our lovely parts spread, and decided to build this super creative 1x Di2 build, but with a twist: He used TRP’s Di2 shifters mounted to the hoods, then used the mechanical shift lever on the right hood to actuate a (KS Carbon!) dropper post out back. Details like this are why Chef Coco has three Michelin stars. Other notable details of the build:
